Arson could be visually interesting and scary in a mystery show, but I’m afraid this episode of Psych is going to be one of their more forgettable. This can largely be chalked up to a pedestrian guest star who didn’t mesh particularly well with the leads. Which, of course, makes it even more annoying when she exchanges a fist-bump with Shawn near the end of the episode–as evidenced by the photo above, the fist-bump is a special time to be shared with a special friend, not a throwaway gesture wasted on someone the Dynamic Duo are more interested in because she’s pretty than because she has a spark (ooh, unfortunate word choice concerning a supposed arson investigator). Shame on you, Shawn–tsk, tsk, tsk. You’re only forgiven for doing that thing where you only use courtroom jargon.
The pineapple du jour was adorable, though, a teeny little guy on the front of Chief Vick’s desk as Shawn and Gus meet the aforementioned arson investigator. Wish they would have concentrated more on it.
