Near the end of our viewing of “Six Feet Under the Sea”:
The Brother: So, they didn’t shoot Shabby intentionally.
Me: Well, they shot what they saw in the water intentionally, but they didn’t know it was Shabby. So…yes?
The Brother: That’s what I meant. Why were they shooting things in the water?
Me: I think they were…smuggling diamonds or something? I don’t really remember. Do you want me to rewind it?
The Brother: No. It doesn’t really matter, does it?
And that, my friends, is Psych in a nutshell. Even on a night when the plot makes as little sense as usual, and even in an episode where I still can’t find a pineapple, there are references to Day of the Dolphin, Out of Sight, Texas Rangers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, typing sharks, and Phil Collins. There was even a better than average twist with the boat in which Shawn and Gus are trapped in traveling on land instead of water. I don’t really need intricate plotting (we have Damages for that) as long as Shawn and Gus are wondering where the dolphin saddles are.
Let us know if you see the pineapple!
