On the eleventh day of Christmas, my Bacon gave to meeeee…
…a tearjerking carol with Tooooobyyyyy!
I’m not even going to get through typing this one. Toby Ziegler donates a coat to Goodwill. A homeless vet later freezes to death in the same coat. Toby arranges a military funeral. A children’s choir sings “Little Drummer Boy” at the White House. Mrs. Landingham wants to go, too. I defy you not to get misty over the first of Aaron Sorkin’s brilliant Christmas episodes on The West Wing (he wasn’t too shabby with the holidays on Sports Night, either).
It’s a hard time of year for the armed forces to be away from families, so perhaps all this talk about supporting the troops could turn into money being put where mouths are with donations to the Disabled American Veterans’ Chartiable Service Trust. Maybe then every homeless veteran would come out of the woodwork.
