12 Days of Bacon: Day One

On the first day of Christmas, my Bacon gave to meeeeee…

…a heart-tugging carol in the key of C!

While Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is no longer with us, one of its most memorable moments was a Christmas episode wherein head honchos Danny (Bradley Whitford) and Matt (Matthew Perry) realize that the unusually high number of studio musicians out sick right before the holidays is actually a ploy to get displaced New Orleans musicians a job–and a union card–that will provide some Christmas cheer. Sketches are bumped, and instead we are treated to an emotional rendition of “O, Holy Night” by a group of genuine, awesome New Orleans musicians as images from the city are flashed behind them and coconut snow falls from the rafters.
